Hi there, advice required again please We have just ordered our first ever caravan and have asked for a Powr Mover to be fitted ready for when we pick it up. However, we have recently seen the new Alko Mammut mover which appears to offer the same functionality but is about 10kg lighter and slimmer but is an additional £600 - not to be sneezed at! It also only has a 2 year warranty compared to 5 years for the Powr Mover and doesn't appear to have the same support network. Does anyone have the Alko Mammut fitted and, if so, is it worth the extra money?
Many thanks and Happy New Year to all.

in my opinion the powrtouch option is within the price you should pay for any mover plus the 5 year warranty is first class as i have proved on three occasions.the speed and attention when a fault develops is paramount because as a rule you do not know a fault has developed until you come to use it.shame mine has come to the end of 5 years.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
I had the original mover by Carver which served us well for 10 years on two vand, when we bought a new van last year we decided on a new one and had the Truma/Carver one fitted again. It was negotiated in as part of the deal but the price seemed to be £750.
Hi searshlighters, dont have the Alko mammut mover, looking at a pdf file of the brochure, it looks good and dose have an advantage over the movers that are hung from under the chassis, as it is on the chassis it has the full ground clearance, bit pricey though,my Reich mover cost me £1250 4 years ago was only one that would fit the shallow chassis on my van, if the alko mammut was out then, would have looked at possability of it being fitted,as I need to be extra careful with mine, speed bumps potholes, high kerbs, and fitting the G clamp wheel lock. hope this helps

Hi does anybody have the ego mover fitted on a twin axle ? i too have been looking at movers and does not the powrmover have a cam arrangement to engage it where as the ego has a screw type which is best?
How much is the mammut?
i only need it to aid hooking up on site as van is kept in drive in storage
can only comment on the powertouch ,We have the older model which was fitted to the van when we bought it .It has worked faultless so far really pleased with it BUT where we store our van a freind had a powertouch (new Model) fitted to his van so far a fitter has had to come out 3 times in less than six months .The firm who fitted it wired the motors the wrong way round so they tried to disengaged when you tried to engage them.
We have a Reich mover and are very pleased with it, being the wind on type its fully adjustable for all surface conditions, and has never failed us yet.

I recently bought a mover from my dealer made in Denmark by a company called Kronings.
All I can say is it looks great, inconspicuous, and works an absolute treat.
I hadn't heard of the name before, but I can highly recommend it. I also see that they are all over Europe and make other stuff as well.
Powrtouch here........the main thing that sold me on this model after a lot of research is their aftersales service. They give a 5 years PARTS & LABOUR (not like some that claim 5 yrs but don't include on site labour) warranty and will come to you anywhere in the UK to do a repair....including on sites if you are on holiday. Ours has been fine since fitted last year but I know friends that have had a fault and it was fixed quickly and without dispute. We paid around £850 for the HD version fitted with the cross bar and think its the best thing we have got for the van. We have already moved it once when we changed van this year and will do the same again if we change in the future!
