Why oh why do some people still insist on driving with the blinds down.
We have just returned from Dover to Scotland and on the journey back at least three quarters of the vans that were heading South had the blinds down.
Obviously these people have never experienced the sunlight glare hitting them in the peepers, then they might never do it.
So while your tootiling along, consider the oncoming traffic and don't drive with your blinds down. You might just save an accident occurring.

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Maybe if you towed on the open road JD, you might get some experience of this.

I never even thought of that, but I Gow with the blinds open anyway, at least that way y can spot of a cupboard has opened and everything is falling out of it.
------------- Doing whatever the rice krispies tell me to.
We always pull down our concertian blinds but leave a gap of about 6 inches at the top so that heat is not trapped between the window and the blind causing the window to warp. BTW we have a front towing cover!
If any one has an issue with glare coming off a caravan blind then why doesn't the glare from numrous tinted car windows also have an effect?
We have a front cover but I always travel with the side blinds down purely to stop nosey people looking in when we stop, thieves for instance! I don't think it has any impact on the springs at all, leaving a blind down for weeks on end probably does, as in storage but down for a day? They spend longer in the down position overnight than they do travelling. Ian, I have never experienced glare off a caravan blind, maybe I have just been lucky but this is the first post I have ever read about if and I tow thousands of miles every year abroad where it is sunny, maybe blue expo has been the unlucky one
Can't say I've ever noticed that, BlueExpo, in 50 years of continental hols ...
We have light gauze covers in the down position most of the time ... but don't think that would affect any potential glare, one way or the other.
I'm going to make a point of looking out for this effect when we're away this summer.
never had that on any road in uk in all the years that i have been driving, you get sun glare of a normal car window as well.
More to the point the, daft sods that drive with fog lights on in the day time is more of an issue with me.
I tow with curtains drawn but blinds rolled up - as per the wise advice of many.
In 38 years of driving, several as a sales rep and several more as a taxi driver, so substantial mileage covered, I do not recall ever being dazzled by a caravan.
