Hi Steve,

Load rating of your tyre is 97 = 730Kg per tyre at 65psi (check the age of them, 5/7 years max depending on peoples views) even tyres with lots of tread can be an accident waiting to happen as the rubber perishes.

Calculation:

2 * 730Kg = 1460 KG

1052Kg / 90% = 1169Kg

1169Kg / 1460Kg * 65psi = 52psi

more info as to why's here

Aah, 'that' thread alex....

I would take heed regarding the tyre age, there should be a date stamped on it's wall some where...?

An example, 0411 will mean the fourth week of 2011 it was manufactured in.

So that tyre will be 5 years old now...

I have to admit the calculated pressure still seems high to me no matter how many times I look at it.

However, after a long journey I can confirm that the pressures went up 5psi when warm.

My tyres have been fitted with the manufacture date on the inside tyre wall. Very hard to read So some searching might be required.

I have a version (dealer special) of the same 1991 Elddis Wisp called a Vogue SL. It took me a while to find out the correct tyre pressure. Alex has it right at 52psi, although I usually inflate to 55psi.
