Never for a minute did I think those things would explode, every days a school day.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Could that ever happen here in the UK? I've never seen that many bottles on a van over here, or anyone doing such a speed on a motorway either carrying a load like that!
There was a video a while back which showed one exploding on a caravan on a campsite. That was even scarier!
When I was a nipper one of the really tall propane bottles got knocked over in my grandfather's factory. The regulator broke off and the liquified gas started pouring out, and then it exploded. It took out the back wall of the factory, bulged the roller doors at the front and lifted the roof. It took a bit of sweeping up!
They never found the gas bottle.
------------- Love a lot. Trust a few. But ALWAYS paddle your own canoe!!
Minds are like parachutes:- They only function when they are open!!!
Those who talk don't know.
Those who know don't talk.
Gas bottles in UK do not just explode unless in a fire or when used for burning/ welding and torches have not been set correctly or turned off properly causing burn back but the tubes would be seen to disappear gradually and gas could be turned off at bottle's.
I have seen bottles that have been left in sun for hrs heat up and safety valve blow and sudden escape of gas causes bottle to take off like a rocket(like when you blow up balloon and let go)only a thousand times faster the steel cylinder knocked a 3 ft hole in a brick wall went through a roof and was found in a field over 400 yards away.
Wonder why garages store them in steel cages outside exposed to all elements and not under a shaded roof.
A leaking bottle were the escaping gas is ignited by some one smoking or a electrical spark from a running motor within the area of the leaking bottle could explode as the ignited gas shoots back into the bottle but a sudden release of gas without ignition would just cause frosting same principal as a gas fridge works.
When I was a lad many years ago with my parents on holiday at Kenack Sands down at the The Lizard, we were on the beach one day, when the camp shop on the cliff top above went up in flames. Even from the beach it was spectacular when the campsite gas bottles went off. At aged 10 or so, it was of course very exciting then
