Hi all we have an ace award Morningstar 2006 it is sited all year round on same site. Sometimes the water heater heats the water and sometimes not, we always turn the hot tap on to get the air lock out until it runs freely then switch the heater on, an hour later it will still be cold.
Then switch off leave for 5 mins and switch back on for say 30 min and its hot. but every time we want the hot water after its been left a bit its always got an air lock in it any advice would be grateful.
Thanks in advance.

Check the air vent Tee piece on the outlet pipe is not stuck closed preventing the heater from air venting if low on water the heating will shut down
If stuck open more water will go under van than comes out of tap
I was told by van service engineer to make sure you got a full flow out of cold side of tap before turning tap fully to hot side to vent out of hot pipe .

Have you tried on gas and works ok, if so the thermostat on electric side maybe faulty.
I usually heat up on gas then turn to electric which I have modified with a timer to come on electrically every hour for 10minutes then go off at 22hrs and come back on at 06 hrs which gives us all the hot water we need and reduces the load especially if only 10 amp site.
