I'm in need of some new rock pegs for the new season. Are there any particular recommendations on a particular type? I've tended to use the metal ones with green top - trouble is the plastic breaks too easily.
Any experience of this type of peg? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Royal-Heavy-Duty-Steel-Tarzan-Rock-Pegs-Bulk-Pack-100pc-Caravan-Awning-Climbing-/391147775392?hash=item5b123965a0:g:~nsAAOSwpdpVWZ5s
At least there's no plastic to break, but wonder if the 'T' bar may be vulnerable to breaking?
I too have the green plastic topped rock pegs and similarly they get broken.
However the steel pin is fine so I utilise a black plastic M8 'Dowty' type roof cladding washer, available for about £2.50 for 25 from Flea Bay, They work absolutly fine and will last for ages.

------------- Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you on experience.
Mark Twain.
I have used these for a while now and would find it very difficult to break the plastic. I like the design of them with the head shape allowing a loop to put extractor in and the opposite side allows for the guy line that seats nicely.
My favourites are the orange topped ones with a threaded shank. I presently have red topped ones which seem to break easily. I thought they were the orange ones when I originally bought them online but they turned out to be red and seem to be poorer quality.

Similar here. Still a roofing washer, but the steel & rubber "Baz" type. Maybe a little sturdier than the plastic Dowty type, but more costly, and possibly a little more elusive, but findable with a google search. (I get mine for nowt through work!)
The rubber gives a snug fit to the peg, so you have to slide it along, thus not loose and not likely to fall off on it's own.
A before & after...
EDIT: This sort of thing..., but that's the first one that came up... I haven't searched for best price.
