My wife Deb and I are sitting on the Cotswold Borders in our 2015 Coachman 545 VIP.

The tail end of Hurricane Gertrude is blowing away all around us, but we are having a great time in here.

We have the Alde wet heating set at 23c and it is really warm and cosy.

The extra insulation and the Alde heating make all the difference - we can honestly say it's just as warm as being at home.

We bought the Coachman especially to use over the winter months as well as our summer trips away - so now we go away every month of the year - in our opinion it's the best that money buys.

The journey down here was very windy but the Coachman was very sure footed and at a steady 50 mph we managed the 65 mile journey without any drama.

The Coachman is a strong heavy caravan and we tow it with a 2016 Volvo XC60 D5 and it's a superb match - this was our first tow with this car as we have only had it 2 weeks, but it was fine. We knew what to expect as our previous car was also a XC60 and that also towed faultlessly.

Time for brunch now and then off out for a drive to see the local area.

I wonder how many others have ventured out in their vans this weekend - it was well worth the effort !!

Work stopped play this weekend but we went to Dartmoor for Christmas. We wouldn't have done it without the Alde heating. Like you we had gale force winds that buffeted us about. One night we were constantly woken by the van being shaken by 50mph winds gusting up to 68mph. The Lunar is classed as lightweight but luckily for us it was strong enough to stay firmly on the ground. The heating was a dream, unfortunately trying to cook a Christmas dinner while the wind kept blowing the gas oven out was another story!!!!!!!

Wish we could get away in ours, unfortunately the heating/water wasn't working when we went away at Christmas, now still waiting for the repair to be approved by Swift.
