Hi thinking about going seasonal next year & just wondered what the going rate was? I'd like to go to Devon ideally & just want it as a base. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. Reasonable showers & maybe a washing machine on site would do. Do you have a seasonal pitch on such a site & what do you pay? Is your electric included & do you pay extra for winter storage? Also are sites less picky about continental vans as seasonal than they would be about them just stopping for short stays?
Prices vary all over the country. I've been quoted £1200 for March to end of October. Electric on a card so you only pay for what you use. Another site was £1500ish all year but electric extra. On list for both

Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder
mine is £1.400 going up next year to £1,500.inc storage, £5 a nite for ehu, swimming pool, club with entertainment, childrens play area, games room. free showers, shop.
Site In cornwall. 110 pitches, statics on site also.If it is a grass pitch, and theres no gravel pitches spare, and you want to go seasonal, you gravel it your self. and this site is easy going, No SS walking round giving you a hard time.Plus you can leave your awning up all year round if you want, your van stays on your pitch.Opens Easter till end sept.I was told theres a few pitches next year.
------------- Roughing it in style at Calloose caravan and camping holiday park nr St Ives.(seasonal pitch)

That sounds like a very good deal! I stayed on a site last wk in Devon & he wanted £1500 plus £35 pm storage for the winter & £18pn if we stayed. No club house or pool but had a small park & animals. The site had a nice feel to it & he was a very nice chap but I can't warrant paying that kind of money for minimal facilities & nearby traffic noise
we pay £1650 open 10 months of the year includes winter storage for the 2 months closed which means your van stays on your pitch basically
Awning can stay up as long as you want it to, electric is on a card meter which averages at about a £1 a night when we are there.
There is a swimming pool and excellent shower facilities, shop, bistro, adventure playground etc, we have also found the site is much more relaxed with seasonal's than some of the strict sites you visit when touring.
The warden said this year is the busiest ever for seasonals out of 100 pitches 62 are seasonal
Best thing we ever did, I know it does not suit everyone but ideal for us as not that keen on towing but love the caravan!!
Yours sounds like a good deal too Rob! What area is it in? I've been doing a bit of research & from what I can gather I'm going to be hard pushed finding anything without long waiting lists.
we left ours this year due to cost think it was £1850 with winter storage (caravan on pitch) electric was on a meter (bill end of year (about £90) small shop on site decent toilets/showers and the awning could be left up at own risk, open 1st march till bonfire night, it use to be £1500 and electric included 4 years ago wardens told us there were more spaces this year free then ever before

I'm not surprised there are at that price! What a shame you had to leave.
We have been looking for sites in devon ourselves as we wanted a permanent pitch about an hour from home.
We found 2 that were suitable and open all year,
The first was around £1400 for the year EHU included but the site has nothing other than showers (which were very clean). Plenty of continental vans on site and awnings could stay up all year. Some of the seasonal pitches even had little sheds for storage.
The 2nd is £1800 for the whole year, EHU is on a payment card (pay for what you use), the site is a little smaller but does have a small bar and restaurant, small shop and a small games room. Shower facilities which were IMMACULATE and even a bath. Awnings allowed up all year too. Seasonal pitches are very limited though but some more coming available Oct
We went with the 2nd site as it was more out of the way of and had a little more to do on site if you wanted to stay around.

We pay £1,500 a year site is open from March to January the 16th then we get free winter storage, we have to pay electric but it's far cheaper than at home, site is a great base no club but not bothered about that, the site is in Lancashire.

Thanks every body. I've found 1 with pitches available in Devon. It's a site we used to go to a lot over the yrs but the nightly summer pitch fees got too expensive for us. It's 1550 & you pay extra for electric. It's from beginning of apr to end of oct & we can leave awning up. Only draw back is they won't accept a continental van which is what we had planned to buy. I suppose ours will be fine with an awning set up though. We could have the inner tent set up all the time & table & chairs to give more room in the van. I'm just calculating now if it's worth it. They have an outdoor pool which is nice n warm from June onwards which is swinging it for the kids. They also have the laundrette I will need! Hmm decisions decisions!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
