Ah just booked a road trip with the family and can feel the season drawing near (happy days)!
One thing that's been really helpful is membership to the caravan club. I booked all my trips direct with sites and ferry normally but a friend is a caravan club member and we were looking at a long weekend at longlet so I joined a week ago.
We are off to France in the summer and went to st tropes last year and not having lots of experience I just booked a mid point with another yelloh village site on route as was not sure about others.
I must say the caravan club site brochure arrived for venture abroad and made this so easy this year.
Just booked ferry Dover to Calais, a stop in champagne Ardenne region for a night followed by a 1 night in Rhine-Alps and then on to st tropez. The ferry and all one night stops booked via caravan club in one transaction brilliant !
Happy spring summer and autum camping/vanning all.
I have just heard of a motorhomer who came through the tunnel from Calais last August.
Driving up the motorway he heard voices. He rang the police who escorted him to a service area, Two migrants were found, one on each axle.
He thinks they climbed on when he called at the vets before crossing.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
