Apologies if this is posted in the wrong section but, here goes.Went to the NEC today,my very first time at a caravan show and,I was amazed at the size of it and the number of people there, spent so much time in and out of a few vans/talking to sales staff/other visitors that we didn't get all the way round unfortunately,a really enjoyable day out,got caught up in the whole experience and (did you guess)ended up leaving a deposit on a new van, still cant believe that we did but,the salesman offered a good part/ex on our present van,and a £500 accessory pack,so we took the plunge, delivery due in February,we can use our present van till the end of November,so just a couple of months over winter to wait, show is recommended and we will go to others next year

beware about the part x valuation without salesman seeing it.they will find something wrong so they drop there valuation.
Never ever been a problem. Been to the same salesman in the past - this is the 4th van from him!

You didn't say what you van you have ordered. We are going tomorrow and would like a new van but have yet to find a lay out that we like as much as the lay out we have.
As a committed Adria fan(this will be our third, but my first new one),we bought an Adora Seine, twin singles, rear washroom etc,at £18,323 on the road price, plus the £500 accessory offer we think it's a good buy.As for the part/ex deal,we left a deposit and he filled in the form quoting their offer, hoping that will be binding.Venture people seem very up front, keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well
If your going to buy,be prepared to haggle.winter's coming so it's a buyers market, still impressed with the show, better still we went for free, had two vouchers from the CC sent by e mail, complete shock as I'm not a member
Venture offered us a poor PX valuation for our Adria. We sold it privately to the first person who viewed it for £3,400 more than they offered. I know they have to make a living but given its under warranty there is nothing more to do than wash it !
We went to the show today . The intention was to buy a new van . I knew what I wanted . ( twin singles )
The adria was the first can we went in . I liked it very much . But can't remember seeing twin singles only a double at the end and . They looked like singles pushed together . I must say I was very impressed .
We looked all the other makes but didn't like any . As much as I liked the adria was unsure . Due to only one supplier . I think it was high bridge . We have had a lot of problems with our just 3 years old van . Every year big problems . I think they said highbrdge is the supplier . Us thus where you have yours and what do you do for servicing .
I may gave to ho to the show now in February .
Have you ever had any water / damp problems with your Adria,s
We had an enjoyable day at the show on Friday too. We always go during the week as it is often quieter and we can get around easier. We are in no position to even think of buying new, and we wouldn't want to take on any financial commitments anyway. We just go for a good day out, and to check out the accessories. Also to pick up any tips for mods to our "oldie". Not found many though as she may not be "flash" but she has everything we need.
Nora, we've no Damp problems with our Adria, and if you listen to others on here, damp is very uncommon in an Adria. main dealers in UK are Venture Caravans at Daventry or Hitchin, although they are available elsewhere. Venture did have their own "Dealer Special" Sportline, a variation on the Altea, but I think that is discontinued from 2016?

Hi Nora.
We have had no prob's with damp at all,on the recent service(Sept'on a damp morning,)
the readings were 5% all around, van is 7 years old so still good, the first was the same,it's the adora seine that has the two single beds, you can watch an old U tube video(2014)of it,which will give you a good idea.We went to Highbridge caravans in September, walked all round and couldn't find a new Adria, asked a member of staff, where they were and he said that they have stopped selling them, went to Venture in Daventry, liked the Seine then,so went to the show to find out more, and the result is posted above,as for servicing,I use an Adria approved mobile engineer, there was a discussion on Caravan Talk some time ago about using non approved service people invalidating the warranty,so I'm keeping safe

I'm always wary of salesmen at shows like this.
Getting all 'emotionally' swept up in the show atmosphere and before you know it, you've signed on the dotted line.....
At 67 years of age,I am experienced in all types of emotions, especially with motorcycles and aircraft but,we wanted new van and could have bought one a week ago,by waiting 6 days, and after doing a research we gained a £500 accessory pack which we wouldn't have been offered otherwise,
hi went to the show today 400 mile trip im a bit down there was more motor homes then vans every where you looked there was motor homes i enjoyed but for the m25 4 hours there and 3 comming back cheers .tom
