We are needing to replace our old caravan battery, and dont know what to choose.
We have motor mover fitted and Phantom tracker fitted so want something tidy.
Looking at 110 amp minimum. Is any make better than another.
Any help/ recommendations welcomed please.
Have looked at several online and costs seem to vary considerably. Is there a difference to justify costs.
Have looked at Banner, Explore, Platinum.
thanks
Milly
I bought a new 12V 120AH Deep Cycle Battery LUCAS LX35MF Leisure Caravan Marine Boat 500 Cycles £106-50 of ebay in 2014, been ok no problems, also have motor mover fitted.
That last requirement to go rallying off EHU places a bigger demand on having the right battery; a decent deep cycling one, which unfortunately is not the same as a label with "Deep cycling" written on it.
I and several others have found Banner Energy Bulls to be a mid priced battery well suited to our caravanning requirements. Unlike some it is what it says on its label. It will need occasionally topping up with deionised water as it is a traditional "wet" battery.
You can buy a lot cheaper, but not IMO for the money any better. Even with a good battery abuse can destroy it so after investing take care of it.
I have always used Numax 110ah batteries, with my Reich mover on last van it never failed battery was 6year old when transffered and 10 year old when sold last van New van came fitted with NUMAX 110ah batt from dealer
I think you will find that Numax and Lucas batteries have identical dimensions and weights. I am sure that they are good but you will find Banner or Varta are better. Depends on the consequences of your battery going flat I suppose, will indicate how much you should spend.
