Hi
I have recently purchased a 1993 freedom sunseeker called Lillian 😊
I am wanting an awning but confused about which one will fit as she is a very small caravan.
Does anyone else have a freedom and know which awning would fit?
Many thanks in advance

The only one that I found to fit my sunseeker was the one from Freedoms at Stafford, I tried a porch awning but no way would it fit anything like good enough.

They are hellishly expensive but are really a cracking awning even though it cost almost as much as my caravan but as I intend to keep the van for as long as I'm able I think it was a good investment.

Have a peek in my profile for a look

Thank you for your reply moppetsdad.
I see by your profile that you have sold a sunncamp 200 awning on the past. I assume that meant you tried it and it didn't fit? That was the one I was going to try.. So I won't bother now then.. Lol.

Eek I didn really want to spend the amount from the freedom place. Wondering if a motorhone awning would fit... So confusing how to measure too but I have seen a previous post on here so hope I will work it out.. Ha

Hi The reason that the sunncamp didn't fit was because the straight section of the freedom roof is so short and what happens is the forward awning panel ends up miles to long apart from that it was ok ish!

I even tried lifting the van up on blocks to see if that would be any better but no, I tried pulling the bottom out and peging it but that just left a massive gap that you could almost walk through, the only way you could get one to fit would be if you took a pair of scissors to it and a sewing machine!

If you intend keeping the van save up and splash out they really are top notch awnings and give so much extra space and will last a long long time.

A driveaway awning might do the job, plenty of people I know have them. Because they have a 'tunnel' that is connected to the awning rail, it's good to go for any height. Have a look in my gallery for a pic of mine - I have a door at the back of my van, not on the side, so a similar problem!

Have a look at the Outdoor Revolution movelite driveaway awnings.

Thank you again
The freedom awning does look awesome but I think a bit out of my price range at the moment... I was quoted £650 from freedom at Stafford.

I will look into a motor home drive away awning... The movelite one mentioned looks like it might fit. I will have to check the width.

I think I am getting my head around the measurements now and what I am looking for at least 😁

We had a 1992 sunseeker with awning. The awning was actually longer than the caravan. There was a piece of pole to extend it at the front. Very useful bit of kit as you need the extra space.

One option (though it is expensive) is to get one from Freedom themselves.
