We are going to North Wales in October and looking to make an overnight stop to break the journey. We are travelling up the M40 so looking somewhere between M42 /M54 /A5 maybe somewhere between Telford area and A5 Shrewsbury, that would leave approx 60 to 80 miles left to Betws-y-Coed the following morning.
Can anyone recommend any good sites en route that won't take us far off the motorway?
We expect it will be quite wet in October and are going with friends, we both have twin axle vans so will only want sites with Hardstanding and Electric hookup.
Thanks
Thanks Avon Eagle a bit cold for stopping at a Naturist site in
October LOL.
I know there is a great listing on UKCS but as it is just an overnight stop we are looking for a site without traveling miles off our primary route.
I am hoping somebody who has taken this route to North Wales might have a recommendation of a site that is close to the roads mentioned, without having to read through lots of nice looking sites only to find they are miles off the primary route.
If its just an overnight, we have used the CC site at Chapel Lane (B47 6JX).
They put you on what seems like a bit of car park - all tarmac, but its fine for overnighters and just off the motorway too.
I would suggest, going that way, to use the M6 toll rather than going via Birningham, which can be a nightmare! (Don't forget you get a discount on the toll if you show your CC card), then when you reach the M6, you go south for 1 junction, if my memory serves me right, to get onto the M54. Or you could get onto the A5 and use Streetway House as I suggested in your other thread? Check the hardstanding situation if you are interested.
It's easy enough to get back onto the M54 from there, or you could continue on the A5. There are no sites any good for you between there and Shrewsbury that I know of.
Hi, you could consider the camping and caravan club site Kingsbury water park located near jct 9 M42 then after night stop you are just off M6 toll road to go to M54 its a nice site
