Hi I hope someone can help? I've just bought a swift silhouette (3 diamond) 2 berth caravan & I can not find the vin number, I've searched underneath on chassis, on A frame & around the door. Please help? Thanks Rob.

Should be on front of chassis somewhere. If caravan is old then it could well have fallen off. Mine is unreadable. On an old caravan, I wouldn't worry about it. You can buy vin plates off ebay if you do want one.

You may have to remove A frame cover as a lot at that age were stamped on the top of the chassis.

Mine was under the A frame cover but could be seen (with the aid of a torch!) through a small aperture in the cover immediately above the number.

There's a 9 digit number on the A frame in a cut out. I understand it's a 17 digit number! Is that right? Robbo

I think VIN mumbers started in 1992.
Could your caravan be Pre 1992, probebly 1991.
What kind of info are you looking for, can you post the 9 digit number on here.
