Having done lots of research we have narrowed down our choice of caravan to this model (first timers), choice has been by a few internal things we liked, a smaller shower, having been keen campers we are happy to use the facilities on site so the shower is only for emergencies,by having the smaller shower we gain a full length cupboard in the bathroom, the kitchenette sink has a built in draining board all recessed down a couple of inches again on a practical issue less water on the worktop to deal with, and lastly the shelving/cupboard arrangement opposite the cooker and sink is higher due to the fridge being on that side so it's at a working height all the others we've looked at that it much lower, does anyone own one of these caravans, if so have you been happy with it? The only downside I'm aware of so far is the waste water connections are at the back rather than the side so it's difficult to connect up if on a slope, think we can live with that, will take that into consideration when choosing a pitch,😃
We started off with a Coachman caravan with an end kitchen layout but only needing a 2 berth caravan Coachman didn't make any other model than the 380 (end kitchen) and the 450 (end washroom) but we felt that the 450 would suit our needs better. We have now had the 450 model for near on 5 years and to be quite frank I haven't seen a caravan with a better layout than this.
The shower cubicle is an ideal storage compartment as you can utilise the space to carry the waste tank and water barrels so it leaves the toilet area free to use if you are travelling on a long journey. However, the later 450 models (2000 onwards) had an external locker on the nearside which mine doesn't (1999 model) but I thought this took up valuable storage space under the nearside seat which we store the sleeping bags and pillows which is ideal regards avoiding cluttering up the caravan.
We have been very pleased with our 2 berth 450 model and we have no intention of changing it in the near future. Regarding the waste outlets at the rear, we have never had a problem as we have a Wastemaster which you can turn round and use the lower inlet port if pitched on an upwards slope and use the higher inlet on a downward slope.
