Same as towing a trailer. With the higher speed limits for goods vehicles on the A roads also there should not be any issues with them considering the gross weights if you were over 40mph. Legally 50mph now which is better all around.
I tried sticking to 40mph once on the A49(S) to Ludlow. Everything wanted to overtake me, Even other HGV's and if you know that road there is not many places to overtake a vehicle doing 40 when your in a HGV also.
40mph on single carriageway for HGVs now increased to 50mph and 60 on dual carriageway so even if 5th wheeler is classed as HGV speed limits are now same as caravans.
Thanks, all. Had my first encounter with a fifth wheeler last weekend on a single carriageway and we were just under 60mph so assumed that they were like motor-homes.
