hi, we are new caravanners and we are returning to our van in France and haven't used it since last year, I need a little advice please with regards to the water. Is there anything we can buy to flush through the water system at all? Also is there anything we can put in the aquaroll to clean it? many thanks

Hi

At the start of the season I fill my aquaroll and add milton fluid, let it soak for half an hour, run it through the water system and allow half an hour then rinse thourghly.

Used this every year with our old van for 9 years without a problem.

Hi there,
I use Milton to do mine, first use it to clean the aqua roll, then fill the aqua roll with a Milton solution and fill the pipes in the caravan by turning on all the taps, when you can smell the Milton water coming out of the taps , turn them off and leave for an hour, flush them through with clean fresh water and change the on board water filter, job done. Hope this helps

'Milton' is okay to sterilise just plastic components such as babies feeding utensils but this is used and discarded on a daily basis which is different to treating equipment that is going to store water over time. 'Milton' also contains a harmful bleaching agent that can be harmful to metal components over time which are found in the caravan hot water tank so the best advice is to use the right product for water storage. The ideal product to use is 'Puriclean' which also destroys the bio-film which is the harmful bacteria that clings to the interior plastic water pipes which 'Milton' doesn't treat and once the system has been treated with 'Puriclean' you can add tablets to the barrel to keep the water fresh if required.
This is the product that I and most caravanners use and further information can be found in the link below.

I use VWP cleaner steriliser. It's ok to use on metals and gets good reviews on line.

I've lost count of the people who have said this. I have also lost count of the people who get iffy tums, sickness or the runs or all three when on holiday in their caravans. But it's always something they ate, not the dirty pipes. JMHO!
