Need advice; have a x-breed s**tzu and need advice of type of cage would go in motorhome just to travel there n back and for him to sleep in.

Need one that folds away for storage but also so that can fit bungee ropes to secure it in motorhome.

Any ideas been looking in amazon and ebay but at a loss

They look great !

It does say in the description 'anti-slip rubber feet and anchor straps to help secure the kennel when used outdoors'

So I would think you will be able to secure it somewhere in the motorhome with some bungee ropes.

Hi there angel, we also have virtually the same crate but ours came from Argos, (various sizes available), and it's brilliant! It can easily be secured to anchoring points etc. by bungee cords and we've had our mini Schnauzer travelling on both the back seats and in the boot with no problems. In fact, he tends to travel better in the boot as he's a bit of a nervous traveller since an unpleasant water splashing experience when travelling during the time of the 2014 February floods lol He used to be perfectly fine in the car up to that point and has been nervy eversince.

The one we got from Argos, (also not very pricey), also had available a nice dog bed insert that fits perfectly and doesn't allow him to slide around as he was on the bed/mat that came with it. I'd say it's the perfect travelling accessory for your furry friend.

It also packs away completely flat when not needed although our little chap still likes to go into his crate when we're leaving him home alone when we both pop out now and then. We do try to take him with us wherever possible though and he happily jumps into the crate whether it be on the back seat or in the boot.

Enjoy your travelling with a contented pooch.

Hippy

They do have anchor points, they are a great piece of kit, I leave mine at the caravan now as im on a seasonal pitch. Fold down in seconds into its own bag and comes with its own bed. I think there is a video demonstration somewhere online if you Google cheeko.

Our small terrier just ripped the zipped panel out of the fabric crate.

We now have the Elle Bo crate from Amazon (link at the bottom)

keep in mind these sort of crates aren't crash tested and won't protect your dog in an accident, they are restraint only. However we have been very pleased with the quality of ours she loves being in it. Its easy to put up and fold down so we take it with us if the dog comes visiting to friends.

Mostly though for travelling in the car we have a dog seatbelt.

For a crash tested crate you need an airline style dog crate but they are very expensive.

You can get crates quite cheaply on ebay as people use them for puppies then sell them on. You can look at crash testing results and info at the centre for pet safety. As I said though some of the crates are very expensive

We use a soft canvas type cage and put a harness on our dog with a short belt which goes through a slot at the rear of the cage and clicks into seat belt attachment.

She is a border terrier and has hated the car since we got her as a puppy. She would shake and be sick etc..until we were advised to get the soft cage and harness. We have had the cage for over two years and she now loves going in the car and settles down in minutes.

Mind you dogs are like humans..all different!

Much less scary for the dog than a solid cage i.m.o. It has two C shaped zipped doors, one each side with one solid canvas door and one mesh. Also has a good sized mesh panel on one side with roll down solid canvas as well.
We face this to the front and it works well for our dog.

Fold down and comes with its own zipped bag..
