we decided we would look in to buying a new van, had a look at the quasar 524 and like it (wanted a light van due to not wanting to change tow car) unfortunately let down by having rusting hinges on the front locker.
Now the response from the dealer was
1 it was only a little rust
2 maybe lunar would change their design next year
3 no one else has picked it up
I suppose in this day and age of caravanning it is expected that the customer should be happy to part with 17,000 for a new van with only a little bit of rust on it
Tell the dealer if he wants to sell it to you to change them.If not what other things if you find go wrong, after purchase is he going to fob you off with.
they did offer to change them but pointed out that the hinges would rust again as other lunars they had with this type of locker hinges were also showing rust

as much as I like the layout of the van I am an old fashioned person who expects something new to be perfect, something the whole of our caravan industry doesn't seem to understand.
So no I won't be buying it going to look at an Eldis 434 and hope that's better
If you deal with Chi Caravans at Twyford, Trevor their Service Manager will look after you. I had some discolouration on the side panels and after an internal inspection some damp issues. He passed this to lunar. They agreed to take it back and complete the re work. My vans 4 years old and I'm V happy with this support from Trevor and Lunar.

Must say just seen a 2013 Elddis 530 xplore which although not brand new seems to be in imaculate condition and exactly the layout we were looking for so will do some research and see reviews on that make and model
