We are having problems transporting two bikes with our caravan. Swift 565.We can put one in the caravan but what about the other?
Does anyone use a bike rack on an Antara or a Captiva?

We use a roof rack, although the Antara is tall and we have to use the caravan step to get them on and off, not a problem as it is there anyway. Good side is if anyone wanted to pinch them (not that we ever leave the car and caravan unattended) they would have to go to some lengths or be really tall to get them off.
Did try a bike rack on the tail gate, but made it to heavy for me to open it up.
Hope this helps.

Thank you. So annoying as we sold a bike roof rack a few years ago. It was one of those you could put the bikes on low down then push it up to the roof.We bought a motorhome and didn't think we would go back to caravanning. What kind of tailgate rack did you have?

We had a Hollywood, have had it for many years, and it really has seen its day. We did think about getting a towball rack, but were a bit concerned about it being stolen when we are away from the car whilst on the bikes.

I have a maxxraxx 4 bike carrier, not used it yet as the A frame on the camper is a bit shorter than a caravan and the previous cars nose weight was too low, however may give it a go this year now we have the antara and see how it goes.

If you use the Maxxraxx won't the noseweight be too great? Looks like the answer as we would only be carrying two bikes.
The bikes on the roof it will have to be if Maxxraxx not suitable. We just found when we did this before the fuel consumption was greater,
