Hi everyone proberly not the place ask this question but does anyone know what wood is used to build caravan decking as I'm planning to build my own , as anyone had experience of this my site will allow me to build my own thanks in advance 😊
The static caravan decking patios I've seen look much like one you would build in your garden so just search 'decking' on B&Q website, see the decking boards & all the other parts required. Before you buy from B&Q though have a shop around your area, you may find a smaller supplier that is cheaper.
If you can wait until I go to my van next Monday I'll let you know exactly what we used in October last year to build ours. The receipts are all in the van. I seem to remember though that it was cheaper to go to a small timber yard that specialises in decking and they were very helpful. However we used brackets for extra support which were extra and we had to get them online. The deck is the full length of the van, 1 meter wide and one end is a 'P' to give space for a table & chairs. We bought all the boards 3 meters long and hubby cut them to size with a mitre saw. A lot of hard work but very satisfactory when you can say 'I did that'. We had been quoted £2500 by the site owners son and I think the total for us was £700. It took 4 days with only a little help from me to hold the wood for cutting and passing screws etc. Good luck.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
