I have a 2007 Pyramid Awning. We also have an unused Apache tall annex, purchased pre 2005. The zips are different sizes. Are zips a standard size? or have they changed? If they have changed does anyone know where I can purchase a new zip. I can sew and would like to change the zip myself.

Try Ten Valeting Services
Tell them the length of zip you require or they would fit if required

I got a new awning zip from off EBay - there's loads of them advertising. I did a sort for the ones who offer free postage!

I second the suggestion of buying from TVS who are more likely to know exactly which zip/slider you need (assuming you are just going to replace the half of the zip on the annex and not the half on the awning as well- a very big job). Just because both zips are the same nominal size (8,10 etc) does not mean that the slider from one will work on the other.
I did this myself several years ago. Erected the awning, removed the side panel, zipped the half of the new zip to this then with the old zip still on the annex used the zip tape on that to pin it to the new zip (saves putting more holes than necessary in the awning fabric). When I had it sitting right, removed the annex, made loads of marks with a chalk pencil along the inside to match up the new zip with the annex fabric, removed the old zip half and repinned the new half to the annex before sewing in. Used an old black Singer straight sewer to sew it in.
