Hubby and I are on our first trip of the year in our new van we purchased last November (and first trip in this van). Although we put a dehumidifier in with kampa crystals we didn't really change it enough and there is mold on some of the fly screens. Any advise on best way to clean this off? Wasn't sure if I could use bleach and water on them? Many Thanks c
HI, This is what worked for us, problem is getting enough pressure on to scrub off, get a flexible plastic chopping board, NB roles can be reversed depending on level of trust in relationship! He stands outside with window open, flyscreen down, put hands up under window, placing board against flyscreen, other half is inside van armed with spray and sponge scourer, he moves board left to right top to bottom, while cleaner is sprayed on, then repeat , this time pressing board against blind, while blind is scrubbed, pressing against board, i think we repeated after with clean water, and used either mildew remover or very weak bleach, but of course test a small area first, and protect furnishings, and side of van, and of course eyes!
The crystals you are using are making things worse by trapping moisture that naturally passes through the van.
De-humidifiers are a waste of time unless the van is sealed ,the water in the trap is not from your van its from the whole world.

Agreed, and you cannot completely seal the van anyway, it needs ventilation to prevent damp, condensation and any gas that may leak to drain out of the holes in the floor.
The spots are generally organic items, (even fly crap or suncream on door blinds) that allow mould to grow over winter. I got rid of mine yesterday from the Omnivent extract fan's fly screens in the roof using the dilute Milton solution I mentioned already.
