we are still waiting on them getting back to us re repairs to the damp in our 2013 Elddis Rambler 20/4. We have called in and rung and finally asked them this week to reply within 48 hors - no joy, I accept that they have to get the go ahead and the panel from Elddis but they all new that the panels were faulty but left it until a problem was discovered on inspections. I would not recommend Elddis to anyone, Wandahome get a lukewarm rating from me

Sorry, mate, but you are incorrect - your contract is with the retailer not the manufacturer. Getting the `go ahead` from Elddis is immaterial.
I had a problem with my van within its warranty period and the same line was trotted out by the dealer (they had `contacted the manufacturer and were awaiting a reply`). "Good for you, but in the meantime either fix it or I`ll see you in court" was my response. The van was in within 7 days.
It`s common for the dealers to try and fob you off. Under SOGA your contract is with them - they have to fix the van then it`s up to them to get recompense from the manufacturer. That`s their problem not yours.
Go back to the dealership, put in writing you want it fixed, give them a timescale which is acceptable to you or you will see them in court.
Don't want to hi-jack this thread but,on a similar vein, went to look at a new van at Venture caravans yesterday, they seem good,no pressure, very helpful etc' has anyone had experience with them regards after sales, servicing, they offered a good part/ex on my present van,so I am tempted but don't want to jump in with both feet.

Time to play hardball.
I am well aware of the S O G A ,however as there are owners ahead of me with the same problem I can wait a while longer rather than muscling in- what I failed to mention was the reasonable reply we had from Elddis regarding the repair. Whilst we were at Wandahome 2 panels had been delivered alas not for us. As I said before I am not prepared to make myself unpopular just yet.

HI, we have bought from them and used their aftersales. They were fine when we used them but that was our previous van a couple of years ago which was an Adria Sportline 542DT
The after sales is so disgusting it’s hard to believe just how bad they really are. The technicians are just a bodge it team that is when you eventually get any jobs done . They have no respect for your caravan that you have paid £25000 for . They just bodge jobs in the hope that you will accept it and when you don’t omg look out !!!!

So you join a camping group and your 1st post is to slate a well established caravan dealer.
Please feel free to give us a little more detail of what they have or have not done.
