As we are new to caravanning, could anyone advise us on securing the caravan door to prevent our two girls 'escaping', we can lock the door but it is very easy to open, which worries me, as all parents know children can be stealth-like at time. Thanking all who respond. :-)

I have seen several vans with "stair gate" type of thing. Not sure if you could buy one that small or whether they were home made though.

This kind of thing?   Might be useful on site, but I think I'd go for a bolt and/or chain towards the top of the door.

Caravan doors are easy to open from inside for a good reason. There could be a number of reasons why you might want to make a very quick exit.

Have the same problem with my dog, he knows how to jump up and open the door.
