Over the years we've had 5 two berth caravans. We nearly always use the bench seats as single beds. What do folks do with the seat backrests and end cushions when it comes to bedtime.
Same here. The back pads go on the floor, vertical; I then get sleeping bags and pillows out from the nearside seat locker and place on the offside bench. The various lumps of furnishings from the front end plus any loose cushions then pack, Tetris like, into the empty locker. Beds then made up, by which time her lady ship emerges like a butterfly from a cocoon, from the bathroom.
yeh, we use the two front benches as single beds, we put the cushions, in the shower cubicle, out of the way, only takes about a miniute, if one hands the cushions to the other. better than having them stacked in the van in-case a quick exit is required

Ha ha. I know what you mean about ladies hiding until the works done.
Erm, objection M’Lud. I make up the bed while OH walks the dog. (Different in our MH to your caravan as both our couch bases & backs become the bed, loose cushions go into the MH cab area).
I can see that but caravans don't have a cab area to put them in which is a pity. Ours caravan touring friends used to put thiers in the awning but they used to get a little damp overnight so they used to put them in thier car. What job everynight. We used to stack ours near the door but that was not good. We thought about putting them into the shower but not good after a evening shower

Why would you not just make one giant bed - as is their design? Cant imagine sleeping on a couple of foot of bed. No room for owt.
cos you can't get out of the thing, if you lay crossways ,the window one has to crawl over the other to get out.
if you lay length ways, then you are in effect on 2 single beds, without the ease of getting up.
that is,if you're fortunate enough , not to have to get up twice a night.
plenty of room on the singles without the back cushions, hence the original post
I agree. If its made up as a double bed and you both sleep across the bed one of you has to step over the partner to go to loo in the night. My Mrs would always put me near front windows so at my age regular pee visits at night is a way of life.
We just lift our back cushions onto the floor infront of each bench seat, leaves plenty of room to get between. The other cushions can go in the benches or the shower.
