I don't use cling film but I make sure I have washed off all the grit.

Sorry to hog this post but if anyone wants a nearly new protec to fit a sterling or swift 544 ive got one in the ads section, caravan on the way to being sold so its a used once purchase.
Also to the original poster, these covers are the dogs wotsits and do exactly what they say, its just that our caravan didnt stand still long enough to get our use out of it.

Yes lol, but what do you then do with the mucky old cover, as to wash it would surely damage the waterproofing?

We have never bothered with a cover for any of the caravans we have owned over the years, we like to have as much fresh air as possible circulating around our caravan, and now we are in our golden years, we would struggle to fit one or remove it.

Hi Julia,

If you lived under trees you might! The covers are pretty much self cleaning, you pick a dry day to take it off, we lay ours out on the garage floor, brush the top off and store in the garage loft. Our current one like our van is 5 years old and both are in excellent condition
