Having read some of the negative reports about caravan dealerships I wanted to put in a good word for Grantham Caravans. We recently traded in our Stirling Topaz for a Bailey Unicorn Madrid and, as fairly new caravanners, needed a lot of help and advice. They did all they could to ensure we were happy with the purchase.
I must make special mention of their technician. Before we made a final decision to buy, he brought the caravan over to our house to make sure it would fit on the drive and gave us a lesson on how to manoeuvre up and down the slope. On the day we took delivery a two hour slot was allocated and the same man took us through the equipment, controls etc, answered all of our questions simply and without blinding us with science and gave us a lot of general hints and tips on our specific van and caravanning in general.
I would, however, advise that you make sure you see the salesman write down any specific requests. The only disappointment we had was that we had asked for one piece of equipment to be transferred from the Topaz to the Madrid and fitted in a specific place. He didn't write it down properly which meant that it was fitted in the wrong place. Not the technician's fault and he offered to move it, but that would mean leaving holes in the floor so it will have to stay where it is for the time being.
I hope that the after sales service is as good. Watch this space.
I too can recommend Grantham caravans. Bought many spares from them this year plus an upgrade weight wise for my Coachman. Really good service and a Christmas card arrived last Friday. Well done guys.
We are strong supporters of both Grantham Caravans and Cross Camping. Having been back tenting then caravanning for the past 6 years we have only purchased from these two retailers. Living between the two, it just makes sense.
