Boss at work MAYBE selling his 'sudwind' (?) 550 to get a Hobby.

It would be an ideal upgrade for us... Bunks for the kids - no more making up two beds each night etc.

But, does anyone know how much they're worth, and what I should / could offer him, IF it's within our budget...?

As you may have read on another threads, I know how well built they are (stood on roof to clean it with a pressure washer! ).

And I also know it's in very good nick.

But we're stuck on how much they're worth....

Servicing & parts are no problem, the running gear & interior appliances are no different to UK built caravans. Look on ebay for similar size & age caravans of any make, see what they are going for & offer him that.

Ask a local dealer what the price is, all dealers have a caravan bible which tells them the dealer buying price and selling on price and varations on condition like car dealers.

IE if dealers says he would buy for x amount of £,s and sell for y £,s offer your boss a  price halfway between.

I have just sold a Geist for £5300 with awning and mat + extra,s

Dealer offered £3850 and would sell for £5950 dealers price included all my extras

cooker fridge toilet hot water heater fire roof lights omni vent are all same as Uk built vans on BPW chassis so you will not have touble getting spares in UK

Not certain but think Knaus are on Alko Chassis and now made by Hobby

Pretty sure Hobby has nothing to do with Knaus.
Is it not Hobby and Fendt are the same parent company.
And likewise Knaus and Tabbert are the same company.

That's if I get the gist of your last sentence.

XVI yes?

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

He's said tonight before leaving work....

He's bringing it home from where it's sited for the winter, and then hanging on until about the spring when he may get a better price...

He thinks it'll go for £3500 without the extras (awning, carpets, tanks etc).

Or hopefully £5k with the bits...

Just need to find the money now...
