Hi, could someone please help me with a issues.
I was wanting to know if my 2001 bailey ranger 520/4 birth
Could I connect it to mains water, does it have a water pressure switch, I don't want to flood anything.
Kind regards, alan
The pressure switch only controls the pump running and will not prevent any mishap in van. You need an Aquaroll with an internal ball valve fed from mains supply and then your pump to draw water up into van.
I tried a direct supply to my caravan and the pressure dislodged the shower tap cold supply pipe.
I was lucky that it was the shower, as the water just drained through the shower tray.
I use the a valve as in birdmans post above

"never put mains water into a van" cobblers, with the right equipment go for it. Been doing it for years with no issue.
To the OP depending on the connection at the van you will need something like this to do the job.

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Well you can do what you like, but im sticking with my aqua roll,i have the ball cock fitting for fully service sites but not many have them. And if they do normally limited. But i have legs and dont mind using them.

You've obviously never read some of GP's posts.

Pedantically, blueexpo is correct, you cannot connect the mains directly into a caravan.
You have to use either a pressure reduction device or a barrel with a mains connection.
You can't use a mains water supply directly to a 12 volt application as the pressure is extremely too powerful so will only dislodge the joints at the piping etc. However, it can be done but only by installing the proper equipment designed to deliver the water to your water barrel which has already been mentioned.

if you need to be so tart in your replies to a post made by what appears to be an inexperienced caravanner perhaps it would be sensible to think them out first
you cannot connect a mains supply to a caravan with out having a pressure reducing device these come in two forms 1 a pressure reducer fitted to the water connection coupling & 2 by fitting a valve into the 40 ltr Aqua roll that allows control of the water level in the barrel . this is my preferred method as it eliminates any possible damage caused by a fluctuating site/mains water pressure
