Hello Im a newbie motorhome vertrian just converted to a caravan for the first time.

I have just bought a second hand caravan Lunar Meteor 1997 .I have just tried to tighten the jockey wheel up but the handle just keeps going round and will not tighten .

I have removed the plastic cover from the hitch up to expose the clamp and it looks like there is a removable spigot that the handle goes into .I have removed the spigot and the thread has gone

Does anyone know if i can buy this part ?

Also the clamp for the jockey wheel appears that it is connected to a large flanged piece of metal that sits over the main arm of the caravan that hitchs up to the tow bar?

Thanks Tony

Thanks for the reply

The clamp is wielded on the coupling.
Not sure I can just by a new jockey wheel and clamp
to connect to this type? I will try and upload a picture

Thanks

This happened to a mate of mine and what i remember it takes big bucks to fix.
He got some one to weld a nut onto the stripped part.
I take it the jockey wheel is in the middle of the "A" frame ?

Hello Jeff

Yes the jockey wheel is in the middle of the A frame .I have a picture of the same one I have  so you can see what im trying to explain but you sound like you are on the right track with maybe weilding a nut onto it if i cant simple buy the spigot / piece of metal

I have tried to upload a picture but it dosent seem to work so if you click on the link  it will show you a picture of one the same as mine
