We're really in need of some advice from any kind people that have knowledge and experience of travelling and staying in campsites/caravan sites within France.
My partner and I are looking to start a new (somewhat nomadic!) life from a campervan, and are initial looking to travel around France to get a feel, eventually travelling the rest of Europe, with no immediate intention of travelling back to the UK.
The biggest question for ourselves is how to self fund this whilst travelling around.
My partner is a hairdresser/barbour and an initial thought is to carry out said services at the campsites/caravan sites we will be staying at.
Have you ever experienced this? Would this be something that whilst travelling you would use?
We would also look at caravan and motorhome cleaning as well. Again is this something that you have encountered or would it be a service that you would be interested in.
Your thoughts and ideas would be greatly received.
I think you would obviously need to negotiate this with individual site owners and likely customers are going to be seasonal or permanent pitches for washing, but bear in mind in uk and France many sites don't allow you to wash your caravan or motorhome on site. I've never noticed permanent pitches on any sites I've visited in France, but maybe there are.
The hairdressing could be a novelty but you will have challenges of water, elec etc. we all get a haircut prior to going on holiday so can't imagine us using such a service. Having said that I did see a somewhat successful business being run from a canal boat (think it was the Prunella scales boating documentary) so you never know.

Think very carefully about insurance liability, as whatever country you are in they will expect this. Re caravan cleaning, you will need all the right gear but we have had our van cleaned on site by a commercial mobile valeter, we asked the site we were staying on and they said as long as its a 'waterless' clean then its fine. Our vans in storage so this makes more sense when we are staying somewhere longer than a weekend.
