im in burnham on sea tomorrow and was wondering if anybody knows where i could purchase a telescopic flag pole ive searched ebay but left it too late to order one many thanks

I don't know for sure but there are shops at the campsites at Brean and it wouldn't surprise me if they sold flag poles.

If one of these flag poles blew down and struck an adjacent caravan, would the owner's insurance cover any damage caused?

I use a 5 metre telescopic fishing whip,altho you can get longer/shorter ones,there is a fishing/caravan shop on Warren farm as mentioned,or if you go to the Saturday market on burnham pleasure beach there is a stall that sells them.
Make sure that it is well anchored,you can use a ground spike,or clamp it to the jockey wheel leg.
As for the question of insurance cover,they weigh next to nothing(carbon fibre)so any damage would be minimal so could be settled between owners.
Don't fly a large flag at the very top,put it on the next section down,a strong wind will snap the pole,and use small bungee ties.Have fun,we're going next week and also for the wild west week.

try Army&Navy store we use to buy ex army tapered radio aerials about 2/3 metres long to fix pennent on when rallying.

never had a problem with ours falling down, but obviously if it's extremely windy you would take it down and we take ours down at night so it doesn't flap and annoy people.

Best place to get them from is lifebreeze.co.uk great to deal with also sell on E bay
They also sell the ground stakes got a 7 m pole from them never had a problem and great people to deal with.

Just bought a 6 metre pole from a fishing tackle stall at the Dorchester market. Don't buy from kite suppliers. They are expensive. You want a roach pole. Same thing, different sticker.

Given many caravanners have to watch the payload, while i accept a flagpole may not weigh that much, i have to ask - what is the point of carrying them anyway?

My mate is so overloaded with unnecessary junk when he sets out, his tow hitch is barely 6 inches off the road. And, this is without a flagpole - as yet!
