I sometimes think I am in the minority,
I use the toilet I paid for along with my caravan, I also use the (excellent) shower Bailey provided. I use the built in heater rather than a fan heater or oil filled radiator. I use the water from the aquaroll for everything including drinking. I don't use expensive duvalays, I find normal bedding to be "just right"
I just about agree with you I use the site showers if free lot longer shower and less filling the aquaroll although I now have a campervan Iuse a separate container for drinking water as the aquaroll could be stale depending on how much other usage there is
When I am at home I like to get out of bed and straight into the shower. On holiday I like to do the same. I just couldn't be arsed getting dressed and walking to the shower
Hmmm - I never could understand why people pay thousands to buy a caravan with all mod cons then traipse to the site showers and queue for the washing up sinks If you've got it, why not use it??

Don't use the expensive Duralays or whatever they are called, just a sheet, fleece blanket and our duvets....very comfy.
As far as the shower is concerned, there are usually 4 of us in our van..it has a perefectly good shower in the wet room but we always use the on site showers when they are clean and available because lumping the clean and dirty water to the van and back for 8 showers a day is much more time consuming than taking the people to the shower block!! The shower is used in the van when nothing else is available, just for emergencies as that's a lot of water to carry around for 4 people otherwise.
We do use everything else our van has to offer - blown air heating, hot water, etc. etc.
This old chestnut again. People can use whatever facilities they like, be it in their van or the campsites facilities. I can't see the need to preach or try to criticise others for not doing the same as they do.

I don't think Andy is actually preaching to anyone about what they should and shouldn't use. He is merely just making a point as to why people pay several thousands of pounds for an item that contains home from home luxuries then decide they don't need them. I couldn't agree more actually as they may as well just go and buy a tent, save loads of money and use the preferred site facilities every weekend. Some people just need to get out more!

I didn't actually say Andy was preaching but these threads generally end up in people preaching their campsite philosophy regarding which facilities to use. You have proven this point.
I can totally understand folks wanting to use the facilities in their van, so surely they can understand why others want to use the payed for onsite facilities.
Its already been mentioned the plus side of not having to lug fresh and waste water which depends on how many use the van shower.
Using the site showers I can take as long as I like and not worry about fresh or waste water needing filled or emptied in the pouring rain and then feel like I need another shower.
I personally like to get up in the morning and walk to the facility block have a blether and bit of banter with others doing the same.
Very seldom have to queue, infact can't remember the last time I had to queue
I go in my shorts, zip up top and crocs..easy!
We all do what we want and I don't critisise those that do just that! why would I want to

Simple reason ...... you can't buy a caravan without a shower. If I could, I would.
