Hi,
Looking for some advice here. If I pitch my van on a front to back slope. After levelling the van how do I position my awning.
(A) do I put it it up level with the van, or
(B) do I put it up following the slope.

Taking the extreme case, one end of van touching the ground and the other end way up in the air, then the only way to pitch the awning is to follow the slope.

You're limited by being able to peg down the awning. If you follow the van one side will be too close to the ground and the other will be too high off the ground to get a peg in. Just pull the awning through the rail until you get an even amount to the ground at each end.

You haven't got much option really but to follow the sloping ground as the pegging out of the awning needs be equal at both the front and rear. What you have to be careful of is if the ground is sloping away from the caravan door, that's why I always advise to go just slightly bigger on size to allow for material for pegging out along the front. If the ground slopes upwards from the caravan door then there is the option of putting the caravan on wheel ramps to take up any slack but judging that comes with experience as you can't drive the caravan up the ramps after the awning has been erected.

All the awnings I have owned had adjustable front legs, thus the height of the awning at the front could be adjusted to the optimum height for pegging out.

This is how I did it ... i guess so long as the roof slopes away from the caravan you shouldn't have to many problems.
