We have just brought a Lunar Venus 380/2 caravan 2014 year
We want to get a Kampa Rally Pro Awning, but we don't know if it has got to be a 290 which I think might be a bit small or a 330 but again don't know if this will fit our caravan.

As you can probably tell we are new to caravaning this will be our first time towing, setting up etc.

Any information on what size Awning we need would be great

Do you mean a 260 as I can't find a Kampa Rally 290?
Have a look at the list of Kampa awnings.

Hi tango55
It probably is a 260.

I have looked at sizes but I just can not work out what size would go with the caravan that I have.

I don't want an awning that when I put it up is to small.

For the 260 sized awnings you generally need a fairly flat section of roof that long.

You wont get a 390 because you van is barely that long, And the roof is nowhere near that long.

A full awning will give you more space because it goes to the extremes of the van where the awning rail is but they cost more and are heavier and not as easy to erect.

If you are wanting a porch awning measure along your awning rail from the door to see what works best. i.e where 260 or 330 would take you. Would it clash with a window, do you mind? We didnt want 390 as it would go across our outside cupboard. Although 330 went across a window it was the perfect size for us. IMHO 260 is too small to move and sit in.

I have a 330 for sale on the classifieds in here.

If you look at the 260 awning it gives you the floor space which is 260 cms. long (8.5 ft.) and the 390 is 390 cms. long (12.8 ft.) both being 250 cms. wide (8.2 ft.) so what you have to do is get a length of string and a measuring tape and cut two different lengths, one at 8ft. 6ins. and the other at 12ft. 10ins. This will be the length of each awning so all you do is try the string against the caravan (door side) and see where it comes. Now the shorter one may come in direct line with the window so then you try the longer one and see where that comes and make your decision which is best. If neither are suitable you may be best opting for a full awning as the body length of a 380/2 is only about 13 ft. long anyway which is virtually the same length as the Kampa 390 awning. The 390 will probably be too long anyway as the roof part may start to enter the awning rail front bend which the front side panel when pegged out will be slack. However, at least you know how to check it now so the final decision is yours what you choose.

I think the internal dimension of that caravan is only 3.9m

With a fairly steep slope to the front also. Not a chance of a 390 fitting.

The 260 may even reach the point where the front starts to drop down. But not enough to affect it.

The body length on mine is 18ft 6". And a 390 just about fits.
