Can anyone help me....My motor mover operates effectively for about 20 seconds and then the green light flashes and the audible alarm sounds continuously and the mover refuses to move any further. The battery is fully charged and a drop test was performed last week....any ideas?

What voltage are you getting on the battery in use though?

Sometimes the drop tests wont show when the battery is actually in use.

Brakes binding?   Oiled and greased the mover?

If you let the mover/battery recover will it then carry on? Battery in the remote weak?

The battery is showing 12.7 volts, I assume the brakes are ok as I can easily push the caravan, no I haven't oiled or greased the mover, but it seems ok in that respect, it runs along perfectly as I say for about 20-30 seconds, then it gets slower and slower finally stopping altogether....No it doesn't seem to recover, and if it does it seems sluggish...can you help any further please?

Strange - still sounds like a battery problem. How old is the battery ?

If you power the mover without the rollers engaged how long will it run for ?

Battery is date stamped 03/2009, I have just rechecked it and it is showing 12.65 volts, and it has just taken 0.5lts water to cover the plates (I hadn't realised it was down on water), I have put it on charge at 2amps....I'll see what it says tomorrow...would this lack of water make that much difference...is it time for a new battery, if so are any makes/models particularly better than others? Many thanks for your comments so far....

12.65 volts at idle, But what does the voltage drop to when the mover is in action and under load.

Had a similar issue with a mate who said his car battery was fine at 12.6 volts. Yet as soon as you switch the headlights on the voltage dropped to under 11volts.

Battery had little capacity.

I think you may have solved it for me....I have it off the caravan at present so can't turn the motor mover on, so with no load it was at 12.7v, so I wired a 12v 21w bulb across it (about 1.75amps) and after 50 minutes I am recording 9.8v on load 10.3 volts off load....so it's a case of no capacity then....could you confirm that I have understood this correctly, if so it's new battery time...Richard....

Hi RF you do not say what AH your battery is.
When I had my mover fitted I was advised to fit nothing less than 85 AH battery, but if I could afford it by a 110AH barge battery of a decent make.I changed my 75AH for a 110AH Numax not cheap but never a problem. Still going strong after 4/5 years. Plenty of companies on net that sell nothing but that type battery shop a round you will find good battery and make at a reasonable price delivered free. The cheaper the battery the shorter the plates the less load and life.

Yes - sounds like you need to invest in a new battery.

As your old one is 5 years old, it's probably about due.

I have recently replaced ours as it would run the mover for a couple of mins, but was then out of juice.

Yeah a 21watt bulb should draw very little. Under 2 amps.

The fact it dropped to 10 volts shows its well past its lifetime.

When you get a new one dont forget to charge it up monthly. Leaving a battery in a discharged state will kill it.

And the onboard chargers wont fully charge the battery they keep it at a floating charge.
