Narrowed it down to either a Coachman 545VIP or a Swift challenger 560 with end bedroom.
Am I making a good choice ?

We have a 575 VIP which we love. What is the difference? 545 has an end bedroom. I think they look nice, but have heard of stability problems.

We bought one with the end bedroom, mid bathroom and found it very claustrophobic. Have you tried laying on the bed? We’re not the tallest of people and found our feet touched the bathroom wall. We only used it on one trip and changed it, an expensive mistake. I also found that as the bathroom door was shut, it made the living area feel quite compact. As with anything, what suits one person doesn’t suit another, so just make sure you’ve done your homework. It’s like buying anything, a house, a bed etc you spend a small amount of time making your choice but then when it comes to living with it full time it doesn’t actually make you happy. Hope you enjoy your new van, whatever one you choose.

We have a Challenger 560 and love it. It works so well for us as my husband is a very early riser and I like a lie in on holiday. With this configuration, he can get up early, go into the front of the caravan and get on with his morning while I can sleep in peace down at the back.

Yeah tried the bed agree not massive but would be OK for us.
We just like the privacy in the bedroom if we have the grandkids along.
Thanks for the reply.

I do like the Swift (wifey likes the Coachman) but on reading the coachman site there seems to be a lot of niggly quality issues but thanks for your review.

We changed to the Lunar Delta TS, twin singles, best van we’ve ever had. The storage space is ridiculous, we never use most of it. The end bathroom is massive with 2 wardrobes and big shower. There is a door that slides across to shut the bedroom off.

We have a Swift Celeste 560 (basically a Challenger with a few extras), it's a nice caravan although I would probably but a caravan with a transverse double bed, I'm 6ft and my feet touch the wall at the end of the bed, it's not too much of an issue as I don't sleep with straight legs anyway.

Regarding the comment about it being claustrophobic, I don't really have that issue but sleep with the bedroom sliding doors open anyway.

Regarding the stability comment, we have had journeys where the caravan feels unstable but only ever had that with our BMW 3 litre X3, no matter how we loaded it, it just didn't feel very steady, especially when being passed by lorries and coaches etc, we have since tower it with a Ford Edge (absolutely no stability issues) and we now have a Land Rover Discovery Sport, I honestly can not even feel the caravan with the LR, we have the nose weight at between 90-95kg and have barely any weight under the rear bed.

What I would say though, the Swift is a pretty heavy van for a single axle (our max weight is 1600kg), I think in future, I would probably be looking at a twin axle if I had a caravan over 1500kg (although there are pros and cons with twin axles)
