Just thought I would share this as I couldn't find anyone else with the same problem when I looked. My mains adapter valve stopped working (not shutting off) and kept flooding the field! Unscrewed and removed the white arm that holds the blue cup and descaled and cleaned the rubber disc but that did not work.
Eventually I removed the white arm altogether using a screwdriver to gently prize the plastic clip open and discovered another smaller rubber cap that activates a red pin. On inspecting this rubber cap I realised that the red pin had made a deep indentation in the rubber. Luckily, the position of the pin means that it is possible rotate the little rubber cap around 180 degrees so the pin now hits a fresh patch of rubber. The valve now works perfectly!
Hubby delighted that we don't have to pay out for another valve.
Hi Jennifer B, thanks I have just started having the same problem this last Bank Holiday, I wil give that a try , if you find it doesnt last, you shouldn't need to buy a whole new adaptor, I recently bought a repair kits with all parts that could need replacing , It was about £10.00
... and if you can't find the bits, a side entry Torbeck valve from Screwfix or similar is a suitable replacement; it doesn't have to be an 'Aquaroll' product.
most plumbers merchants should have repair stuff for the valve, if not, the torbec would be a good replacement, spares are definatly available for those.
Jennifer B you are a genius after about 8 hours a new service kit and two caravan mechanics I was about to jump up and down on my aqua roll mains adaptor till I came across your article and fixed it in a jiffy. Well done and thank you,,
Hi Jennifer B, we’ll, I just found your post, I realise I’m a few years later but thank you very much for posting. We’re on a fully serviced pitch for the first time as we’re pretty new to caravanning and found a site that’s all fully serviced pitches. My husband had purchased all the relevant extra equipment and I have to say, he was gutted when his valve wouldn’t cut off. We just took it to pieces as you did, eventually found a tiny white pin and I gave it a tiny push from the pointy end and it moved! Didn’t realise it was the pin in question but we’ve just popped it back in and it works. Thank you so much again for the simple solution and yes, saved us buying a new one. Excellent 😀
Hi Cheryl. That’s kind of you to post a “thank you” but the OP Jennifer last posted something in 2016 so she might not be reading UKCS any more. (Hopefully she’ll prove me wrong, but she didn’t respond to Moortours in 2020.)
As well is two words!
