Hi Folks,

Just took our new to us van for a four night break at filey brigg, Nice site bye the way!!

Anyhow its a 2008 coachman laser, during the night maybe during the day! however out all day. Back to the night, the pump comes on for approx 20/30 seconds every Hour! is this normal? or is there a problem?

Any advice.

Our pump comes on at night sometimes, it's because the system has lost pressure possibly caused by a tap that isn't turned off properly. We just switch the pump off when we go to bed and switch back on in the morning.

You may have a leak?, I also think you can adjust the pressure switch for the system to make it less sensitive, I may be wrong lol.

It's not uncommon for the pump to come on occasionally, but every 30 mins is a bit excessive.

As mentioned above check for leaks and adjust the pressure switch if required.

Definitely sounds like you have a slight leak somewhere maybe a tap , maybe a loose push fitting . It's a good practice to switch the pump off especially when you've gone out for the day . It will save you from burning the pump out !

I don't think you need to switch off unless you have a problem with pump coming on.
Mostly I think its just habit switching off as not being used during the night.

Was very windy this weekend away and it blew the dust cover off the Aqua roll and it was acting like a sail lifting the end out of the water, so every now and then the pump came on to pressure up. Put the cover back on and everything returned to normal. Now switch the pump off at night to stop this annoying noise.

One leak path can be back through the pump if the non return valves are not perfect.
Tends to be a fact of life some slight weep back occurs, hence the advice to switch off a pump for an undisturbed night.

Weve got a slight leak from the shower head, pump comes on for a few seconds every 3 hrs at night maybe.

Which site were you on at Filey?

One of our favourite places, but thought the Cliff Top site was closed at this time of year? (Nearest access to the brigg)!

Can be caused by the gradual drop of the stored hot water temperature, which leads to slight pressure drop in system,as the water takes up less volume, and pump runs to restore set pressure .Its Normal, no adjustment needed.

I also have a coachman laser, but mine is a 2000 and we have the same thing happen. I agree with kerrysdad as it never happens unless we have had the water heater on. I've lost count of the nights that I've spent outside shining a torch under the van trying to find a leak.

I think there lies my answer!

As i leave the pump on pemanant, and the water heater also. Shall be turning both off in future outings.

Thanks Guys.
