WE have just bought a 2001 Bordeaux. Whilst we have the original booklet it is garbage and doesnt tell you HOW to do things , just what they are.
My main ? is electrics. It has a rocker switch on the main leccy panel a BCA 1212 unit.
When shore power is on to have all the lights on, I have to select van as well, is that right? When I am driving, the rocker is then selected to car.......right?
I was worried that if I want 12 v lights on as well, I was draining the house battery but that seems daft, it must be charging via the 230v input. Doesnt say anything about that in the effing book grrrrrrrrr.
Theres probably more but will ask later..Also I have no idea how and where to drain/plug in the waste water carrier that sits under the bed, zero info in the handbook...again, grrrrrrrrrrr.
Waste water carrier under the bed? My waste carrier lives in the gas bottle locker and when on site sits beside the van with grey waste tube into it from waste outlet at side of van Like this could be a double as well. My outlets are behind wheel on offside(double)

Well with mine, I have a switch as you enter, this turns on the 12V system inside the van,for lights, fan for fire, telly arial booster and water pump. The only switch I have for the car is on the fridge, Mains, gas or 12v(car). Caravan battery is charged when on mains power, there should be a meter to tell you state of battery. I also have 2 mains dimable spots at the front.

Sorry can't help anymore at the moment my handbook is in the van, and the van is at the service center. But surely it must tell you the 12v system in the van and how to use it. When on site the battery is charged via the onboard charger, so when you set the switch to van, you will be using the vans battery which is being maintained. When towing set switch to car to allow power to fridge as this will not run off onboard battery.

If you don't have a mains hook-up, select van and the 12V on board battery will power the light pump etc.
With switch to car sure it could just be for towing which will allow the car supply to top up the battery via split charge /fridge relay which should be fitted to the car!
With a mains hook-up(check circuit breaker after connection-as they can trip),the charger unit will keep the battery topped up so it continues supplying juice for the 12V items.
The fridge should be set to mains setting.
You may have 2 mains powered lights in the front of the van, a couple of our older ones did.

Have you tried looking in one of the generic caravan guides like john Wickersham Caravan Manual if it's general info you need? I'm not too sure what the waste problem is? Do you mean you don't know where your external waste pipes are? Or how to connect them? I'm not too sure where the bed comes in, but will try to help if you give more info, or has Mad already answered that one?
