Good to hear from a satisfied Glossop's customer for once. The clue is in the '5 trouble free years' I guess.
Waiting for the first of the anti Glossop brigade to respond didn't take long
Great! hope you enjoy your new van, we to have had first class customer service when we bought our new van, we had a few minor problems that were dealt with very promptly. glad to hear they are still providing a first class service well done Glossop caravans.
Sorry but after meeting some very frustrated folk I'd own your new to you van a little longer before heaping praise. I'm sure In-between the crappy transactions they are reputed for they will buy and sell some great vans and that's great for the lucky ones but not sure people who have had a shoddy deal and those of us who have met several customers some who have been on the brink of tears are fairly described as the 'anti-glossop brigade' glossop do it to themselves!
Glossops have been fine with us. No complaints at all.
It does get a bit boring hearing the negative remarks from people who might not even have used them.

He had owned his first van that he bought from Glossop for 5 years,
Ha we almost did but were put off by the swearing whilst the sales staff's focus was on the Man U game whilst we were hammering out a deal so we refer to ourselves as 'lucky' now. Sorry you are bored but if they gave consistently good service then the negative remarks wouldn't occur would they! You had a good deal great I'm really pleased for you but I'm afraid it just isn't the full picture of this dealership!

Like I said they will take in some great trade in vans and sell them on to happy customers but amongst them will be the damp used vans we hear about so frequently. Hit and miss it would seem so just because he had one good van would not necessarily make him so lucky with the next!

So not bought from them have you!. you sound like one customer there glad to lose. I to have meet lots off people on many sites who have nothing but praise for the service they have had from the sales staff and dispatch staff.
Never said I had bought from them and very thankful I haven't, does not mean I am unable to form what I believe to be a balanced opinion of them based on personal experience and several visits to their sales site. We wanted to buy a coachman amara but the buying experience was proving to be so tedious and unpleasant that we actually changed make and model of caravan we bought because at the time they were the only dealer near enough to us for servicing etc. if I had received the same care as you maybe I would feel differently but I haven't so I speak as I find.
I have found Glossops to be very good to deal with, I have had nothing but courteous professional service from them and would buy another van from them without any qualms whatsoever.
For those of you who don't know I represent Glossop Caravans on this forum, so just thought I would say thank you to all the nice comments left on this thread.
I know particularly on this forum we have been getting a hard time recently, so it is nice to read positive comments. I have not been able to join in on recent threads posted because of the current situation with the subject, but I have been reading it, and we are aware of it at Glossop Caravans.

From reading the many threads over the years about your company, your weakness appears to be in aftersales services to those customer's who's new or used caravans have faults that emerge during warranty period & suggest the root of these complaints lie in lack of mechanical expertise among your staff & lack of workshop facilities
For the benefit of ukcs forum members & potential customers of yours can you tell us what, if any improvements you have made to your workshop & staff upskilling please?
A detailed & comprehensive answer would be good, this is your chance to rebuild your company's reputation with ukcs forum members at least.
Agreed with Jo everyone I have met have had problems with after sales apart from ourselves who had problems just getting to point of buying one! As the nearest dealership to us who sell all the big brand new caravans we would be in the market for and uk wide service centre network I wish they would pull their socks up not sure what it would take to reassure me now though.
