Still considering our awning options. Favourite at the mo is a large porch awning. 350 would not cover the window but not quite the design we would prefer and 390 would half cover a window. Is there anything other than you can't open that window which we need to bear in mind if going with a 390 one?

i have a 390 and it half covers a window but we just live with it tbh. only thing id consider is you are losing an emergency exit point, but should be plenty others available

Other than the fact that it will probably leave scratches down the window unless you have the option to purchase the rear support poles but then you can't peg it tight up against the side of the caravan and will end up with a draft blowing through instead . If you don't use rear support poles the awning edge will flap about making an irritating noise in high wind . I would advise against going over the window tbh .
My 260 covers half the kitchen window or half the rear dinette window. Never found it to be much of a issue really. Just bought a 390 for this season so will have to see how that fits. Hopefully it doesn't fall onto a window but if it does it's not the end of the world.
I have measured and a 350 wouldn't go across a window. However we are a family of 4 and this will be our only awning so needs to be sufficient for 1-2 week long holidays. The space layout and design of the 390 is preferable for us but just wanting to check others' experience as we're new to caravanning.

It's nice in principle but as has been said sometimes you need a bigger space. I've ended up with 2 porch awnings and a full awning now depending on how long we're away.
1-2 nights is a very small porch awning to keep shoes and stuff in. 2-5 nights a 390 porch awning and over 5 nights the full awning comes out.
Also worth mentioning that 2nd hand awnings are exceptionally cheap and you can't always get the exact size you want on the second hand market so it's a compromise. My 3 awnings including an annexe have cost me less than a new single sunncamp 260.
Some measurements are misleading as if it is one that the mud-wall pegs outwards, the overall ground measurement is given.I found this, ordered what i thought would clear windows, but when erected cleared by that much i could of gone a size larger.I make sure i see one erected now before buying.
You can very successfully convert a "full" awning into a "Combi porch" awning. As secondhand full awning are readily available at attractive prices that could be a solution.
The technique is to nick the bead so one or both sides hang out of the awning rail. In the Combi form one side is left in the rail the other drops down from the rail. Done this very successfully. I have also seen but not done where both sides hang from the rail. Isabella sell the requiste poles and pads if you want to make a better retained edge. Isabella use to have the detailing of how this convertion is done on their website.
Clearly you need to measure things up to determine what size awning to look for.
We love the feeling of canvas but are keen to have a quicker drying lightweight fabric. Have got fed up of the drying process as we had to open up our trailer tent after every single trip, want something lighter and easier to manage. Favourite at the mo is kampa rally pro 390, kampa fiesta is the 350 one we're considering. Hoping to see list at NEC next week to help us decide.

We had an Isabella Minor porch awning and it fitted fine as it missed all the windows, however it was a bit on the small side when there was a few of us in it plus the dog. We now have the Magnum and it goes over the bedroom window but the substantial foam pad between the rear pole and the van doesn't seen to move much and there are no scuff marks so far. I think it depends just how much movement there is between the canvas and the window, if they appear I will just buff them out.
