could someone tell me what vehicle- security checks i
need to make first and mot advice-requirements

If b vehicle security you mean ownership it should be registered with CRiS caravan registration scheme.

An existing owner should be able to show you documentation.

No MOTs are needed on caravans.

If you refer to roadworthyness then the easy way is to check for service history.

You could also do a HPI Check to find out whether the 'van has finance attached to it.
If there is a loan from say Black Horse, they are the owners until the full amount is paid and not the chap selling it.
