Yes we use one of the same size in the cooler months of the year and when used it is left on permanently,it wont give you a warm glow but it takes the chill out of the air.
Very useful during the night when your heating is off, choose your location carefully when used in the bathroom link

Has anyone used these before, I've ordered a 1 foot 45w one. I thought it would be good for the bathroom as it gets fairly cold in there.
be careful where you put it, they can melt plastic quite easily :)
I use a 1ft one in the back of my landy, takes the chill off and stops it being damp, with the plus side, of my windows are de-iced in the morning :)
mines on a frost stat, would probably heat it up if i needed to.
The brackets hold it off the wall, is this far enough away??
I could always make up something to make it even further away if needed.
I also thought if I put it by the vent which was my thoughts, would it be damgerous as you could easily burn yourself, or would this be just the same as a house radiator being on??
yes I use one of these in the caravan bathroom, its a 60watt version though with the clip feet on, its about 18" long, thought about screwing it to a piece of wood to keep it clear of the carpet, but not got around to it yet. and yes it does keep the chill off.
will be using it next week in Norfolk i'm sure.
may take a bit of wood and some screws with me and do it whilst away.

Looks like I have two five foot ones now too.
These I am thinking of putting under the front benches.
This is where we get most of the cold draughts, so I am hopeing it will ack like under floor heating but underseat heating.

Just returned from Norfolk and used one of these as our only source of heat for 5 days. We left it on all day and turned it off at bedtime (don't like a warm bedroom). We had another brand new heater that we never needed to get out of the box!
The only thing I would say is that you need to put it somewhere where it won't burn you as it gets very hot!
Well I used the one foot long tube heater in the bathroom last night and well it kept the chill off a little , wasn't as good as I was hopeing for but saying that there is a vent next to it that doesn't close properly so that's my next job.
I am also going to wire them to a fused switch too so that I don't have lots of plugs etc.
Without me looking does anyone know if the consumer units in a 20year old lunar would have a spare so I can run the heaters on a seperate circuit.
Havnt fitted them yet, been too busy and had to Work on weekend to try and catch up.
Very very greatfull for everything you have done for me though, I well and truly owe you a beer or two.
Thanks ever so much.
