We finally gave in and bought a couple of wetsuits after talking about it for a couple of years.
The one problem I have is where do caravanners hang them to dry, once you've rinsed them after use?
I wondered if anyone sold a hook that could be slotted into the awning rail - with a stand-off so that the wetsuit could hang full length without touching the side of the van.
most dont rinse them . just chuck them over a bush or something . or use a coat hanger and make a washing line to hook them over .
no point in rinsing you will wont to put it on again later or tomorrow .
We can't put them in the shower since that's where we store the bedding during the day (we don't use the shower since the site's showers are always 400% better).
On the site we left 2 days ago, trees were in short supply. Lots of sand dunes, no trees.
I want to hang them up outside since they're heavy and dripping wet, so I was looking for a rugged hanging point somewhere high up on the van.
Something which locks into the awning rail seems like the obvious solution.
Still, if it's that obvious and no-one's done it yet, there's probably a major snag.
You can get a wardrobe pole for trailer tent awnings that does just this. It's an extra upright pole which clips onto your horizontal pole at the top and has a foot at the bottom plus an "arm" that's about a foot long protruding out near the top end, that's where you hang your coat hangers. Totally useless piece of kit imho for a family's worth of hanging space but it would be just the job for two wetsuits. You might want to look at them, my only fear would be that they wouldn't be quite tall enough for a caravan awning. I could measure mine tomorrow if you liked?
We used to hang ours on hangers on the awning pole outside that poked through the awning,
Now we don't have a caravan we just hang them off the bike rack.
------------- Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
I would have thought the issue is hanging wet wetsuits off something from the awning rail would be the leveraged weight could damage the rail.
Awnings themselves are heavy but supported by poles from the ground.
As above take a whirly drier or use a stand up airer pegged out so it doesn't topple
We usually drape them over the chairs and they dry pretty quickly (well they did in France) and then just leave them in car for next day at beach

I've always just chucked them over a fence, chair, hedge etc and never bothered rinsing them. Even the best suits have a finite life span. Just about to get my Mystic 5mm out for the winter months!
i have a 5mm gul suit thats years old . and a 3mm that gets used alot . usually get them as dry as i can then chuck them in an old fertilizer bag . the 5mm is getting a bit tight now .i bought it in the early 80,s . had a few patches .
dont think its ever been rinsed out .
