just bought another van. Asked at time if it had been smoked in. Answer no. Opened it up next day and it smells of cigarette. I cannot use this van now as I am diabetic and could not sleep on cushions smelling of cigarettes. Anyone know of smoke smell removal method? One that does not have to be constantly repeated.
No 1, if you can get your cushion covers off, then a cool wash in biological washing liquid. Put the covers back on slightly damp and dry them off out of the van in the warm.
No2. If they don't come off, bicarbonate of soda, liberally sprinkled all over them, leave overnight and then vacuum thoroughly.
Fabreeze is very limited when trying to combat smoke or pet smells.

How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
if it was me- wash walls and wood down with flash with febreeze and look on ebay for a new set of cushions. Once cig smoke is in them it will not come out as it sinks into the sponge. some caravan places have sets of cushions as some people change the cushions they have in their van and do a trade in at the caravan center. have a look online.
Sinuses blocked then, a quick visit to the docs should help, then go back in the van and I bet it reeks. That's of course if there is a mate who has a van, smokes and has dogs

Take it back and demand your money back it is not as described, and you where lied too at the point of sale, covered by the sales of goods act, I for would be making so much noise with them, cigarette smoke is disgusting and it will never completely go from the van.

I *bet* you're an ex-smoker (cough) - no-one *ever* (wheeze) makes as much fuss (choke, gurgle, splutter) about smoking as (cough) a former addict (phlegm & spit)
Smoking (choke, cough, splutter) is actually good for (gurgle, gasp, wheeze) you!....

Once the nicotine is there thats it adding sprays and smell beaters is just adding to the smell.
washing everything down will help but the seat foam will be a problem.
If you cant live with it give the van an extra special clean inside and out and sell it for a profit and buy a better van. it can be done
As has been said previously, you were lied to by the seller.
Buying a caravan appears to be a minefield, what with:
Dishonest sellers misdescribing damp vans, and certain dealers who are named on this forum being seriously lacking in customer sevice. It's w wonder peopl buy caravans.
