Hi folks
Has anyone got or used the Bulldog caravan leveller if so do they have any pitfalls ?
I am thinking of getting one instead of ramps

They work well to the balance height a couple of normal ramps will give; dont try to screw the jack out to the limits of the thread, the van ends up quite precariously balanced on not much of the ramp.
Other than that, and keeping the thread coated in Vaseline (best grease around - used by military, strangely, AN-VV-P 236) or std grease (wary of it getting everywhere) we have used them for levelling up race boxes/ horse boxes etc.
Work well, if you havent got a caravan mover to move caravan up ramps, then this will take the wear out of the cars clutch...

I have a mover and still bought one. It was a bargain not to be missed.

Used for the 1st time this year. One tip though.

ON hard ground slide the leveller under the wheels. If its a bit tight then pull the caravan onto a block of wood.
I found on uneven grass it was tighter to slide in. And when it sinks a touch it will be very hard to remove.

I wateched another caravanner struggle to remove his. So i placed a small block under the tyre when lowering it down and had no issues at all.

I bought a leveller - not Bulldog -- but the wheel of the van was too big. So check first. good for levelling if you have the new security wheel lock which has to be spot on.

We bought one and used it a few times. Grampian's tips above are very much worthwhile.

We gave up on ours though, as it can be quite hard work turning the screw and they weigh quite a bit too.

I use a ratchet so little effort to wind it up. 12" handle or a long ratched spanner will make light work.

Did try it with the winder for the legs but that was too much effort.

As their is only 3 of us and a fairly large car/van we dont have issues with space.
We travel fairly light also.
