I have noticed when some caravans are standing on peoples driveways they put the corner steadies down and then put bricks underneath them, why?

can only think to prevent them stood in water going rusty. a larger footing could give more stability.

It depends on the 'lie of the land'. Personally I don't like seeing corner steadies too 'vertical'. I think having them less vertical spreads the load on the caravan floor a bit better, but I might be wrong.

I raised a similar question a while back, about all the vans I see in storage with bricks under the plastic feet.

I'm not sure there was a conclusive answer apart from a lot of people said it was to stop the plastic feet from breaking on uneven ground.

If it's on a driveway I really cant see any point.

I think a lot of it happens because people are advised to do it but never question the physics behind it.

Unless the drive is on a real slope there's no benefit what so ever.

When ours is parked up at home i put a concrete block under the corners as it means i dont need to wind the legs down so far and also the backs are off the egde of the drive just onto the flower boarder so it stops them getting covered in mud.
