Ok was just about to place a order for a Magic motor mover to be fitted to my 1995 Sprite Musketeer Super C when the guy from Bolsover Caravans dropped a bomb shell, Apparently There motor movers wont fit my chassis type ?? and they dont know of one that does. Looked at the hitch movers and everyone slatting them.
All i need it to do is to turn my caravan 180* then do up a slight slope for about 1.5m thats it i can do the rest myself, Whould a hitch mover do the job you recon OR options.
Thanks

On what surface? If it's concrete or tarmac or similar and it IS a slight slope I would have thought a hitch mover would do it but may not do what you may want on a site you find yourself on in the future. Before committing I would get some second opinions on a mover fit.

First thing I would do is ask somewhere/someone else; I have a 1995 Sprite Alpine with a powertouch mover - I would think the chassis is practically the same, apart from length i.e. cross-section of all the metalwork in the relevant areas would be the same, as the Alko chassis is one of the "standards". If the Magic mover doesn't fit Alko, I suspect they won't sell many at all - perhaps ask the makers to check.

Does the Sprite not have a standard Alko chassis?
Will have ti have a look at my sisters van to see what hers looks like.
As long as there is an L shaped section the movers only clamp on.

get a second opinion
the dealers may want to do a quick bolt on 30 min job and charge you a few hours labour
realising they may need to install a bracket beside your chasis its not worth the quick bucks for them
no motor mover is not fitable on any van
all motor movers are able to be fitted on any van
just some will need extra brackets bolted on to carry the motor if the chasis doesnt allow simple fitting
if your dealer says it cant be done all that means is either they dont have the know how or want to waste their time etc
any mover can be fitted to any van just some need a little fabrication to make them fit sometimes

Check as I think 1995 Sprite might have a BPW chassis as it was about the time of the change from Sprite Leisure to Swift manufacturing. ------------- 'A sure cure for sea-sickness is to sit under a tree'

Got mine from these people - super service, small non-standard caravan to which I had to have a drop plate fitted - and no probs with it since, touch wood! :)
They came out to me and fitted it, it was all sorted out in less than a fortnight from order to fitting.-------------

Well I'm well confused. Pretty sure I have a standard chassis that will fit any mover. It's a galvanised frame which is a L shape. 8" from caravan floor to bottom of chassis and then a 1.5" lip. Contacted a company and offered me a used PowrTouch model 1 for £375 fitted. It's only got move my van 4 meters and a 180 turn so think its way to go. What u guys think.

Loads of people get used movers when they buy a used 'van with one attached. If there were reliability problems this forum would be full of complaints about them.
I think you would be unlucky to get a duff one.
